In 2020, the Buffalo Bills will look to take another step forward as they made the playoffs in 2019 but failed to win a playoff game on the road against the Houtson Texans. Quarterback Josh Allen continues to mature and is a true dual threat quarterback. The Bills had a winning record last season and significantly upgraded on the offensive side of the ball. Stefon Diggs, a supremely talented wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, is now the lead wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills. Diggs joins John Brown (coming off a career year) and Cole Beasley, a trustworthy slot wide receiver. The Bills lost running back Frank Gore, but he served as a mentor for their running back of the future, the impressive Devin Singeltary.
On the defensive side of the ball, Tre'Davious White is an elite cornerback in the NFL and on the defensive line Ed Oliver is transforming into a game wrecker. With the upgraded offense, defensive playmakers and the departure of Tom Brady from the New England Patriots, the AFC East is up for grabs. Find your Buffalo Bills tickets today.
Since 1959 when the Buffalo Bills became the seventh team to enter the American Football League, the franchise has seen its share of championship-level success as well as the frustration of losing seasons. But year after year, one thing remains the same: the Buffalo Bills have some of the best fans in all of sports.
The AFL awarded a franchise to Ralph Wilson on October 28, 1959, and it did not take long for the Bills to see success. In 1963 the team tied for the AFL Eastern Division crown, qualifying for the playoffs for the first time in team history. Although they lost to the Boston Patriots that year, they came back the following year better and ready to take on all comers. Winning their division straight out in both 1964 and 1965, the Buffalo Bills beat the San Diego Chargers in the AFL Championship game each season. Following the 1966 season, the team lost its championship swagger, winning only thirteen games over the next five seasons.
Over the next few decades, the Buffalo Bills were not able to recapture their winning ways. In 1986, the team hired Marv Levy as their new head coach, which began a new era in Buffalo Bills history. Within two seasons Levy transformed the team, helping them to make the playoffs in six consecutive seasons. Included in the run is a string of four straight Super Bowl appearances, the only franchise to ever accomplish that feat.
