Boston Bruins Tickets 2019 Season Outlook

One of the most steadfast teams in the Eastern Conference, the Boston Bruins attribute their success to having a solid core of players.  This team rarely makes big disruptions to the team in the off-season and can maintain good team chemistry throughout the year.  In the past 9 years, the Bruins have made 3 Stanley Cup appearances, including last season.  The Bruins are built around a big-bodied defense, all-star goal tending, and an explosive offense.  Brad Marchand, point leader in 2019 with 100 points, will continue to lead the team moving into the new season.  With minimal changes this off-season to a team that lost in the Stanley Cup Finals, it is not unexpected to see the Boston Bruins as one of the top contenders for the 2019-2020 Stanley Cup.

History of Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins became a franchise in 1924, when Boston grocery store owner Charles Adams purchased the rights to own a new NHL team that would be the first to have its home on American soil. The National Hockey League had begun with ten teams in the 1920's, but due to the Great Depression and other economic difficulties of times, teams began to collapse and by 1942 there were only six remaining teams. One of those teams was the Boston Bruins, and for the next 25 seasons, there remained only six teams. Of these "Original Six" included the Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and Toronto Maple Leafs. The Bruins have won six Stanley Cup championships, tied for fourth most of all-time with the Blackhawks.

With a successful team in the early 70s, the Bruins were able to capture two Stanly Cups in three seasons. They were poised to become a dynasty, but were unable to win another championship despite having a very talented roster. The Bruins were close to having a 40-year title drought until the 2010-2011 Boston Bruins were ready to bring a title back to the city of Boston. In the 2011 Stanley Cup, the Bruins were led by Milan Lucic and Zdeno Chara. They combined timely offense with devastating defense and were able to defeat the Vancouver Canucks in seven games to win the Stanley Cup.

Over the long history of the Bruins, there have been some all-time great players that fans with Bruins tickets have been able to see in person. Perhaps the most beloved of those players is #4 Bobby Orr, who played for the Bruins from 1966 to 1976. In that time, the team won two of their six Stanley Cups titles. For every team in Boston, there is one name that is synonymous with them. The Celtics have Larry Bird, the Red Sox have Ted Williams, the Patriots have Tom Brady and the Bruins have Bobby Orr.

The Bruins finished the 2017-18 regular season with a record of 50-20-12 which allowed them to qualify for the postseason. In the Eastern Conference first round, Boston faced the Toronto Maple Leafs and won the series in seven games. The Bruins then went on to face the Tampa Bay Lightning, but lost in 5 games. The next season they got to the doorstep of winning the Stanley Cup before losing to the Blues in the Stanley Cup Finals.
